I just have to say something about this...
Can we maybe take a minute and talk about this oil spill?
Not only do many resist the effort to create alternate forms of energy, but we don't even pay attention to what oil companies are doing.
How is it that BP, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Conoco, Shell, Texaco, etc are all allowed to make BILLIONS of dollars...without ANYTHING that resembles a plan, in the event that something like this happens.
Why is money not being spent on this type of research? So that maybe it doesn't take weeks, even months to stop billions of gallons of crude oil from spilling into our oceans. Or even research that would significantly slow down the leak until they had a permanent fix.
And furthermore, how can WE, as citizens not only of this country, but of this world, sit back and continue to let these companies drill in our areas that our sensitive to wildlife and intricate ecosystems, without any sort of requirement for technology that can stop a spill like this?
Interesting that things like this aren't prevented because of greed. The CEO's would rather put another buck in there pocket than make sure their oil rigs are running efficiently.
I really truly hope that NO AMERICAN CITIZEN DONATED A SINGLE PENNY to help clean up this mess. It should be the BP CEO's that sell their yachts and summer homes. It should be BP that takes the hardest cuts . BP should pay wildlife workers to clean up oil covered animals. BP should pay all coastal workers (fisherman and others) for lost wages, and pay locals to put their resources to use to clean this mess up. And if BP crashes after this mess?? GOOD. Let it be a lesson to all other oil companies out there.

Allow me to introduce myself...There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein. ~Walter Wellesley "Red" Smith So after the long and grueling process of obtaining my undergraduate degree in Journalism and Media Communications....drum roll please.....I work at a bank...TADA! Failing economy and no "real world experience"...well the rest is history. But I like to write, and maybe just some day, some one will read this babbling and pay me big bucks like Julie, from Julie and Julia. Until then...it's just you and me, blank page.
